i'm so very tired right now after a full day out at church - service in the morning, running in the afternoon then taking part in a skit for evening carols at church...makes me more tired just thinking about it! :og'nite all...*zzz*

My egg and bacon salad last week was good! I adapted the recipe to also include grape tomatoes, mushrooms and awesome chilli flakes. :D It was a notable achievement for me because it was the first time I made poached eggs! Well, it's easy when you know how really... (^_^)
There's still one more batch of bacon left and I think I'll fry it and make cabbage and bacon. It sounds a little less than appetising I know but will definitely taste legen-"wait for it, I hope you're not lactose intolerant because the next part of the word is..."-dary!

So you may or may not know I recently went on a ski trip. It was awesome because it was the first time in about 20 years that I'd set foot on snow; and, secondly, the company wasn't too bad either.Aside from the snow, the food was a highlight and there was a lot leftover. I've gotten through most of what was brought back but there's been a lot of bacon sitting around. It wasn't until today that I found this recipe for it. I have all the ingredients and am going to try making it for lunch tomorrow. I'll let you know how it all goes! ;)

Whoa - last night was really something! Steve Hooker won a gold medal for pole vault at Beijing. To win he had to clear 5.90m and bombed out on his first two attempts at that height. I began to think the gold medal might already be in the hands of the only other competitor left in contention - Russian star Yevgeniy Lukyanenko - but Steve pulled out all the stops and secured the medal on his final attempt. Talk about putting on a show - it was very stressful just watching it!
It's Australia's first gold medal for athletics since Sydney and Australia's first male gold medallist since Ralph Doubell in 1968. What a worthy winner we have in Steve Hooker. Go Australia! :D
I don't know what to say. Today a friend told me of news which I still don't fully "get". Mike Guglielmucci of Planetshakers City Church is a hoax. In my view the only consolation is that he confessed the big con now instead of later down the track. I'm unsure how the church will handle and recover from this. It's a sad day for Christianity.
